What we do

KeithWe’re dedicated to instruction on the Macintosh OS X platform. We help you choose the Mac most suited to your needs. We come to your home to set up your new Mac so it does what you need it to do. You’ll receive customized lessons on Apple’s Safari web browser, Mail (email) program, and all the built-in, built-to-enjoy software that Apple provides—from iTunes and iPhoto to iMovie and more! We’ll also make sure you have the necessary software to handle all those attachments your PC friends keep sending you in your email: free alternatives to Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Media Viewer.

LEGACY GIFTS with iLife

In 2005, I made iMovies and iPhoto slideshows of each of our grandchildren’s birthday celebrations, by collecting digital still and video images and editing them into short keepsake presentations then recorded on DVDs. My children and grandchildren enjoyed them immensely at Christmas. Last year (2009) my granddaughter who was three then, specifically requested that I make a DVD of her seventh birthday—because she so much enjoyed seeing how her soon-to-be-eleven-year-old sister had changed (along with the world around them) in the past four years.

Making these gifts requires time that only grandparents are likely to have these days.
The skills can be acquired
.

With Apple’s always evolving and improving iLife suite, it’s relatively easy to create slideshows in iPhoto and to import the background music from iTunes. Making iMovies from digital video, imported pictures and sound clips, and burning them with iDVD is a little more challenging, and even more rewarding. If you haven’t seen what iPhoto ‘09 and iMovie ‘09 can do now, you’ll be dazzled!

Have a blast, too, ‘making music’ in Garage Band for soundtracks to accompany your presentations. Either create your own tunes, OR import tracks from iTunes and edit them before adding them to iMovie.

The seamless integration of your Mac’s applications is simply amazing and amazingly simple!

And if you’d like to make audio story books, Garage Band is exactly what you’re looking for.
Lay down your audio track, then add some music and sound effects included with the program.
You can even publish your podcast on the Internet.
