The Mac vs MSFT debate
Keith of MacSeniors says: Let me set you straight right off the bat. I am not anti-anybody, and certainly not Microsoft. I have been using MSFT products—on Macs— for 16 years, and greatly appreciate that there’s a division of that behemoth nicknamed MacTopia (officially the Macintosh Business Unit, formerly headed by Roz Ho and presently by Craig Eisler) charged with making some MSFT products fully Mac compatible, including Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Entourage. I am also grateful that a dozen years back, Bill Gates saw to it that Apple stayed in business by investing about $150 million dollars in Apple. Of course, it wasn’t a purely altruistic act but a shrewd business call. Regardless, I’m grateful.
For a site that makes a serious attempt to give a fair evaluation of myths you need to be aware of when comparing Macs and PCs, I recommend 35 reasons why not to go Macintosh which isn’t anti-Mac, but evaluates the myths and facts that get mashed together when Macs and Windows are being compared. If you’re trying to decide whether or not to buy a Mac, I strongly suggest that you read it.
Having said that, it’s common knowledge that there are lots of MSFT bashers out there, some more informed than others. I used to refer those interested to John Droz who, in 2001 (and updated in 2005), produced a prodigious and flamboyant case (over 115 pages in a pdf) for Apple and against its chief rival. (For what it’s worth, John also rails against wind power!)
Out of respect for John’s efforts, I present a few cartoons, “borrowed” from his first website for your amusement. I urge anyone who views them to down the humour with a tablespoon of (micro)salt….

Incidentally, MacSeniors clients aren’t allowed to use the word “Dummies”—
or to read books FOR “Dummies.”
