While MacSeniors‘ business is providing help to clients who want or need one-on-one explanation and a hands-on learning experience, we recognize that lots of folks just want easy-to-access online assistance.
If you’re new to Macs or OS X but familiar with web browsing
why not take advantage of Apple’s online help?
Doesn’t this online stuff cut MacSeniors out of the instructional picture?
We don’t think so. There is so much to learn, and only some of it can be reduced to the little lessons on the website.
As helpful as online visuals are, we think most of you will still want a real teacher at your side to answer questions not quite answered even by Apple’s excellent writers.
If you’re new to computers in general, just give us a call straightaway.
We will get you up and running!
Click here to go to Apple’s Find Out How website, where you’ll find lots of help, including several introductory videos including Anatomy of a Mac (no, it’s not about the hardware; it’s an introduction to the desktop and the operating system), Move to Mac, and Windows on a Mac which are designed for newcomers to Apple moving over from PCs, or planning to use their Macs as dual platform machines.
The videos are brief, but should give you a good overview of what’s what—enough to get you started. In addition their are further brief explanations on customizing your Mac, and using the Dock, Mail, Address Book, Safari, iCal, and iChat.
You’ll find general support here and iLife support here.
If you’re more print and picture oriented, you may find the Mac 101 series more helpful.
